FlySight and HR Smith are showcasing a Personnel Locator System Simulation at Global Defence Aviation (GDA) 2026 in Warsaw, demonstrating how FlySight’s OPENSIGHT can support the integration of specialised avionics into a broader operational environment.
By simulating the integration of a Personnel Locator System within OPENSIGHT, FlySight demonstrates how specialised avionics capabilities can be incorporated into a wider mission context. Bringing relevant system information into a common operational environment can support enhanced situational awareness, more effective coordination of search and rescue assets, and better-informed decisions during time-critical recovery missions too.
Building on Proven Integration Experience
The collaboration with HR Smith builds on FlySight’s experience in integrating specialised search and rescue technologies into the OPENSIGHT ecosystem.
Previous integrations include ARTEMIS by Smith Myers, a cellular-based search and rescue system, and Lifeseeker by CENTUM, a technology designed to locate mobile phones and support the recovery of people in distress.
These integrations demonstrate OPENSIGHT’s flexibility in connecting different technologies and information sources within a common mission environment. By supporting the integration of complementary localisation and rescue capabilities, OPENSIGHT can help operators access and manage mission-relevant information more effectively.
The addition of the HR Smith Personnel Locator System Simulation further illustrates this approach, highlighting the potential of a modular software architecture to accommodate specialised avionics and support evolving operational requirements.
Alongside the Personnel Locator System Simulation, FlySight is showcasing OPENSIGHT Automatic Target Recognition (ATR). Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning, OPENSIGHT ATR supports the automatic detection, classification and identification of targets in electro-optical imagery, highlighting the software’s capabilities in AI-powered image processing and mission support.
OPENSIGHT Automatic Target Recognition live at GDA2026

Representing FlySight at GDA 2026 are Marco Gazzaniga, Head of Future System Business Development, and Francesco Carli, one of the software developers behind OPENSIGHT. They will be available at Stand 73 to present FlySight’s technologies, discuss the demonstrations and explore potential collaboration opportunities with industry partners.
