We are pleased to announce the upcoming INTELCAST Workshop, which will take place on 17 June 2026 in Brussels.
INTELCAST is a study dedicated to exploring how Artificial Intelligence can enhance the use of Meteorological and Oceanographic (METOC) and Space Weather data in support of military planning, training, and operations. By bringing together defence stakeholders, scientific communities, operational users, and technology providers, the initiative aims to identify concrete use cases and strategic pathways for integrating AI-enabled predictive intelligence into defence decision-making processes.
The workshop will serve as a high-level forum to review selected use cases and discuss opportunities for accelerating the integration of advanced AI capabilities into METOC and Space Weather services. Particular attention will be given to operational relevance, interoperability, trust in AI systems, and the translation of data into actionable decision support tools.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in three main thematic sessions:
- Strategic Context & Operational Needs, focusing on the role of METOC and Space Weather in modern operations;
- Review of Selected Use Cases, highlighting practical applications in mission planning, training, and operational environments;
- From Data to Decision, addressing key challenges such as interoperability, AI trust, and operational integration.
The workshop will also include dedicated presentation slots for selected participants, fostering an interactive exchange of expertise and perspectives across the community.
INTELCAST represents a unique opportunity to strengthen collaboration across disciplines and to shape a shared vision for the future of AI-enabled environmental intelligence in defence applications.
