System Engineer

As a System Engineer at FlySight, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing 3D GIS-based products, facilitating the analysis of remote-sensed data from airborne platforms. We’re seeking skilled software developers experienced in building large-scale applications, with a strong foundation in C++. Your track record should demonstrate the design and implementation of comprehensive C++ applications spanning GUI, system logic, and database layers.

We value individuals who can swiftly adapt to new technologies while upholding foundational software development principles, ensuring the delivery of top-notch code. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with computer scientists and engineers, providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

Year One Expectations

  • Rapidly familiarizing yourself with our existing codebases
  • Mastering our software infrastructure and tools
  • Leveraging your expertise in systems architecture, design patterns, and test-driven development to shape high-quality architectural components

R&D Engineer (Mid-level)

Introduction

We are looking for a mid-level R&D Engineer to support our team and actively contribute to the development and management of research and development projects, particularly in the following areas:

  • Remote sensing
  • Atmospheric physics
  • Simulations for space applications

The role is primarily focused on algorithm development and software R&D, with applications in remote sensing and image analysis.

What You Will Do

  • Develop algorithms and software in an R&D environment
  • Participate in international research projects
  • Take part in technical meetings and interact with partners and stakeholders
  • Prepare technical and project documentation in English
  • Manage one or more assigned projects with a semi-autonomous level of responsibility

Objectives in the First 6 Months

  • Gain full ownership of at least one R&D project
  • Integrate effectively into the team’s workflows
  • Contribute concretely to software development and documentation

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in R&D, industrial research, or similar environments

Education

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
  • PhD in scientific disciplines is considered a plus

Technical Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Python
  • Academic-level knowledge of Artificial Intelligence
  • Algorithm design and implementation
  • Good knowledge of Linux or Windows
  • Use of code versioning systems (e.g., Git)
  • Ability to write technical documentation in English
